Western Gloves – leather work, riding and winter
Choose gloves for the job. Heavy leather work gloves in cowhide or deerskin protect your hands around cattle and when handling rope. Riding gloves in softer goatskin or leather-textile blends give feel on the reins with grippy palms for secure contact. Winter styles add warm lining and wind protection for long, cold rides.
Check cut and fit, reinforcement at thumb and forefinger, cuff style with hook-and-loop or knit cuff, and breathability so hands stay comfortable. Measure hand circumference without the thumb and pick a close fit that does not pinch. Keep leather supple with a suitable conditioner.
