Perfect Equi GASTRO CARE+, 12kg - For good digestion
FOR A HEALTHY INTESTINAL AND STOMACH, FOR GOOD DIGESTION AND STRONGER IMMUNITY.
Perfect Equi GASTRO CARE+ is an improved, stronger and tastier version of the long-proven Gastro Care.
This supplementary feed for horses naturally helps to protect not only the gastric mucosa, but also the intestine. It contributes to the restoration of damaged intestinal lining and strong intestinal microflora.
A healthy intestine and its proper settlement are the key to effective digestion of nutrients from the feed received, better body defenses and psychological well-being of your horse.
Thanks to its comprehensive action, it brings relief from pain in the digestive tract and improves the horse's condition.
In addition, it supplies the body with valuable amino acids, natural antioxidants, polyphenols and many others.
It contains substances that bind pathogenic bacteria in the intestines and are subsequently eliminated from the body.
SUITABLE FOR HORSES:

Stomach ulcers are a problem for a large number of horses, estimated at around 50-90%. Lesions of the stomach and proximal intestine affect all types of horses and all age categories, even foals.
The most common reason for ulcers is:
STRESS - here (in addition to external influences) the internal setting of the horse also plays a role. Increased stress in horses can be caused by the racing season, increased physical exertion, transport, a stay in the clinic or convalescence with limited movement, inadequate management for the individual, discomfort in the herd, experiencing repeated discomfort when working with an ill-fitting saddle, repeated resolution of conflicts between the rider and the horse, incorrect work, weaning of the foal, pain, season, poor facilities, ...
IMPROPER FEEDING METHOD - insufficient amount of roughage (hay, grass), high intake of sugars and starches in the feed, long pauses between intake of roughage, feeding kernels before hay or even omitting hay and letting the horses out straight onto the grass.
Horses produce stomach acids constantly, not only with food intake, as is the case with humans. And if the stomach is not sufficiently filled with roughage, stomach acids corrode its mucosa and stomach ulcers develop. In the worst case, ulcers may appear up to the protected glandular parts and in the proximal part of the intestine.
ADMINISTRATION OF CERTAIN MEDICATIONS - especially pain and inflammation medications (NSAIDs) tend to have the side effect of ulcers and damage to the intestinal wall (they increase intestinal permeability).
* The existence of ulcers and their extent can be determined by gastroscopic examination.
Ulcers do not only affect thin horses, it is no exception that horses with a good appetite and in normal nutritional condition, or horses with excess weight, also tend to have ulcers. Since ulcers are a painful issue, you may notice some of these symptoms in horses, such as:
poor nutritional condition and feeding problems (poorly fed horse)
poor condition of coat and hooves
problems with gaining muscle mass
problems with food intake (picky horse, takes a long time to eat, doesn't finish, etc.)
looking back or even flailing at the rider when tightening the saddle
tired, apathetic horse
frequent lying down or yawning
sensitivity in the lower abdomen, withers, hips
stiff hips
irregular gait (it may even seem like the horse is limping)
the horse has difficulty relaxing during work
reluctance to work, sometimes even defiance
irritability or inadequate reactions to stimuli (a horse that stares a lot, is scared)
teeth grinding
susceptibility to colic
gurgling
Tips on how to approach a horse with ulcers or suspected ulcers (or intestinal damage):
Be strict in choosing the right feed - if you feed it with unsuitable feed, components or supplements, the condition will worsen over time and it may even reduce the success or completely destroy the ongoing treatment. A very healthy feed suitable for horses with stomach ulcers or damaged intestines is, for example, Perfect Equi VIDA VITAL. The combination of VIDA VITAL with GASTRO CARE+ is absolutely great and very beneficial to health - we recommend it! If you would like to feed farm feed and you do not know how to make the feed ration, contact a good nutritionist who does not compromise on the nutrition of patients
horses.
Provide the horse with a sufficient amount of roughage (high-quality hay without mold, grass - for horses undergoing treatment, limited due to the sugar content or let the horse eat old grass or less sugary grass).
Never leave the horse without roughage for more than 4 hours! The ideal condition is ad libitum (unlimited). For fat horses, it is advisable to slow down the intake of nets with small meshes. For thin horses, do not use nets. Always pay attention to this measure - including at night! A common problem in stables is feeding hay only twice a day, when the horse has nothing to eat in the paddock during the day and in the evening it finishes its hay at, for example, 10 pm or midnight (God forbid, even earlier, for example in winter, when many stables close earlier) and has nothing to eat until the morning. Here again, the solution is a large net that will reliably provide hay for the whole night.
Before work, you can give your horse a little alfalfa or hay pellets to prevent acidic gastric juices from splashing onto the non-glandular part of the stomach. When riding, take a moment and let your friend graze for a few minutes.
Avoid feeding feeds with a higher content of starches, sugars, molasses and, in treatment or in case of digestive problems, gluten. The content of sugars and starches in the diet should not exceed 10% in total. Also, be careful of fats (seeds, oils) with a high content of omega 6 fatty acids, which are pro-inflammatory. Unsuitable oils: sunflower, milk thistle, rice, corn oil, etc.). On the contrary, flax and fish oil are very suitable, due to their high content of omega 3, and sea buckthorn, hemp and rapeseed oils are also suitable. The enemy of successful treatment can also be the aforementioned sugary grass (ideally limit the stay on such pastures and provide the horse with enough quality hay) and haylage (due to the lower pH - acidic).
Beware of everything that can irritate the damaged and sore gastric mucosa or that is abrasive for the intestinal lining (unhulled seeds, alfalfa hay - not to be confused with pellets, very coarse and hard hay, diatomaceous earth,...). The feed should be soft and brittle and ideally, when starting treatment, let it break down slightly for a while by pouring a little water or add fine bojínka hay without molasses, boiled flaxseed or soaked chia seeds, etc. If the finding is larger or the lesions are deeper, or bleeding, inflammatory or inflammation in the intestine is being resolved, it is appropriate to give feed with a consistency like mash.
Divide the trough feed into several daily doses, making one dose as small as possible.
Feed roughage first and then trough feed
When feeding farm feed, it is important to provide the horse with enough of all the necessary vitamins, minerals and trace elements. A good choice is the excellent Perfect Equi COMPLETE+ or the unique VIDA VITAL balancer (in some cases it can also be used as the only feed, more information on the product).
Take care of the maximum psychological well-being of the horse. Whether it is about its being itself - how and with whom it lives (background, composition of the herd). Or whether it is about working with it - listen and keep your hearts open. Galloping is usually the most painful, so I recommend skipping galloping work and jumping for a while. On the contrary, include walks together, manual work and make sure that your horse feels like a very handy partner, which makes you happy.
EXTRA TIP:
*Before riding: give your horse a mash of Gastro Care+ mixed with water to protect the stomach lining. Also suitable for coughing problems. Giving the mash and subsequent work will support the release of mucus from the respiratory tract.
*If the horse does not want to take Gastro Care in a soaked state, try offering it dry. Wet will significantly change the aroma and some horses may not like it.
DON'T FORGET - ONCE AN ULCER, FOREVER AN ULCER.
This means that not only during problems, but also after healing, it is necessary to always adhere to proper feed management and pay attention to horse welfare. Without this, the problem with ulcers can constantly return.
DOSAGE:
In case of suspicion or treatment of ulcers/indigestion: 160g daily for 2 months, then 80g daily for 2-4 months. Then it is possible to reduce to 50g daily for long-term use.
Immunity/convalescence: 160g daily for 1 month, then 80g daily for 2 months. In case of long-term convalescence longer - as needed.
After deworming: 80g daily for 1-2 months.
In case of exposure to stress: 160g daily for the entire duration (racing season, high physical exertion, long-term stay in the clinic, ...). Then as needed.
Ponies and foals 1/2 dose
Ideally divide the daily dose and give it in the morning and evening. If feeding only once a day, it is possible to give it in one dose.
1 scoop is approx. 27g
Serve mixed into regular feed, moisten with sufficient water.
In case of problems with feed intake, mix with water and apply directly into the horse's mouth with a syringe.
* Introduce into feed gradually: GASTRO CARE+ smells beautiful and is usually very tasty to horses. But like any new component of the feed ration, it is necessary to include it in the feed gradually - start with a small dose and gradually increase the dose over several days (7-14 days) until you reach the required dosage.
Ingredients: 3c451 L-glutamine, collagen, fenugreek seed (Fenugreek powder), yeast products - prebiotic
