Sodium chloride – Sodium chloride is a highly pure pharmaceutical salt for inhalation therapy, intended for the production of saline solution - brine.

Specifications:

Pure pharmaceutical salt for medical and pharmaceutical purposes, without additives and excipients, meeting the highest standards of the European Pharmacopoeia Ph.Eur.9, BP, USP, JP. The highest standard for pharmaceutical products requiring the highest purity and GMP certification.

Inhalation is a treatment procedure in which the horse inhales aerosol vapors of saline solution, mineral waters, or other medications, as prescribed by a veterinarian.

Used in horses with conditions associated with respiratory tract disease:

Pneumonia
Laryngitis
Bronchitis
As a result of another disease:

Equine influenza
COB - chronic obstructive bronchitis
IAD - inflammatory airway disease
RAO - recurrent airway obstruction
Infectious respiratory tract disease
Streptococcus equi bacterial invasion.
Chronic respiratory tract disease in horses requires accurate diagnosis, long-term management adjustment, targeted therapy based on proper medication and treatment procedures including inhalation.

Inhalation therapy:

allows the application of drugs directly to the required location deep into the respiratory tract. In the case of using an ultrasonic nebulizer with a particle size of 0.5 - 8um,
ensures maximum therapeutic effect. Inhalation can be used both preventively, for example, saline solution 0.9% NaCl, Vincentka, and specifically nebulization solutions, in acute problems according to the recommended medication of the veterinarian.

Inhalation therapy significantly moistens the mucous membranes, transports active substances directly to the local site of need, increases the viscosity of mucus in the respiratory tract.
The mucus becomes thinner and it is easier for the horse to cough it up, the pharynx and oral cavity are disinfected. Inhalation therapy has a local antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, and in respiratory tract inflammations that have already erupted, it has an unquestionable mucolytic effect.

For the production of your own saline solution to the desired concentration from 0.9% - 4% solution.

Individual concentrations of brine preparation:
Isotonic/physiological solution with a concentration of 0.9% NaCl.
The concentration corresponds to 9 g per liter of water NaCl in the cell.
Hypotonic solution < 0.9% less than 9 g per liter of water less NaCl in the cell.
Hypertonic solution > 0.9% more than 9 g per liter of water more NaCl in the cell.

For humidification of the respiratory tract 0.9% - 2% NaCl solution.
For effective therapy and lavage 2.5% - 4% NaCl solution, which is enhanced by osmotic balance.

Hypertonic saline solution is one of the mucolytic agents used to dilute, loosen and remove mucus from the respiratory tract.

Warning:

Sea salt as a source for the production of brine is not generally recommended due to possible contamination with heavy metals - arsenic, lead, mercury and other heavy metals.
It is also necessary to take into account small plastic particles, which are constantly contaminated with seawater.
